providing that if you wish to sterilize your teacup puppies,
it is best do it before the age of 1.5 years old.
(^.^did you guess it right?)
teacup dogs are naturally born with a small body size
and fragile bone structures,
and these unique physical traits of them
really just  don't match with a heavy body,
in terms of appearance and health reasons.

obesity not only causes many health-related issues on teacup dogs,
but also various inconvenience in their daily lives.

use the checklist provided below to examine if your beloved teacup puppies
are in the ORANGE or Red light zone of Teacup Dog Obesity.

Teacup Poodle Guideline 23:

Obesity in Teacup Dogs

if you detect your teacup dog may be having obesity problems,
use the basic checking methods suggested as follows:

first of all, gently place your thumb in the center of your teacup dog's
back area, and use the other fingers to feel his/her rib cage:

1. if you are able to feel the ribs under a thin layer of muscles and fat
then your teacup dog is within the average
weight.

2. if you can touch a thick layer of fat under the skin while finding it hard to
feel his/her ribs, then your teacup dog may
be slightly overweight

3. if you are unable to feel his/her ribs at all but a handful layer of fat,
then your teacup dog is already under the risk of
obesity.
if your teacup dog gets the result of 2 or 3 from above,
then he/she needs to be put on a diet as soon as possible.

the first thing to lose all those fat on a teacup dog is to ___?___;

however as teacup dogs are naturally small in size,
and have a very limited appetite in general,

owners should not change the feeding patterns
(small amounts but many times of meal a day)
to avoid them from falling into the state hypoglycemia.
there are also diet foods designed for overweight/obese dogs available in
regular markets,
the trick is to provide them with the same amount of food
(quantity satisfaction) but with much less calories then usual
to help
puppies lose those extra pounds without feeling hungry.
in addition, owners should refrain from feeding teacup dogs

extra food/snacks outside normal meal times.
keep your teacup dogs at a constant and regular exercise level,
such as taking them out for a nice good walk in the
evening,
continue living a healthy and low calorie life like this for about 3 months
then your teacup dog should be able to
regain his/her lovely figure
and stay out of the danger zone of obesity.
